Alexandra Barthélémy, PGE 02, launches Reveal up, a company that helps you reveal your company’s potential!

Alexandra, tell us about your journey after leaving NEOMA.

I graduated from NEOMA BS in 2002 after completing the Grande Ecole Program and a curriculum that predestined me to work in marketing. It was during my first professional experience at Catalina Marketing, a relationship marketing agency, that I was able to discover, learn and love trade, particularly the management of a portfolio of clients composed of consumer goods manufacturers.

Through a common acquaintance, I had the opportunity to meet a Sales Manager in the medical products industry and to pursue my career as the Sales Manager for the Export Zone.

I then joined American Express as Key Account Manager to sell the acceptance of the Amex card to major retail chains in France.

One of my former managers finally asked me to come back to work with him to take over the management of his company's Export Business Unit. This position gave me the opportunity to manage a team while maintaining my role as a sales representative for certain clients, particularly in Asia and North Africa.

A few months ago, you embarked on a new professional adventure.

In August 2017, after 15 years of sales in companies, I decided to take a step back and take some time to think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my professional life. Accompanied by a professional and personal development coach, I quickly felt the need to have my own business, a project that I made a reality last September by creating Reveal up, a business consulting company. Reveal up's main mission is to help companies unlock their potential, both in terms of business performance, human capital development and individual behavioral agility. The offer is twofold: advice and operational support on the one hand, and training for sales teams and managers on the other.

Did you have moments of doubt during the development of Reveal up?

It quickly became obvious to me that I wanted to work alone, even if it was a leap into the unknown and that being an entrepreneur is a very different situation than that of an employee. During my period of reflection I was lucky enough to meet many people who confirmed my desire to get started. Today, I would encourage future entrepreneurs to do the same by pointing out that the years of experience spent in companies bring undeniable legitimacy!

Relationships are essential to me. As an entrepreneur, to prevent from getting lonely, one must constantly create opportunities to share, to meet new people, to participate in after work events, to network, to continue to learn from the experience of others.

No two days are alike... my missions are exciting and mean I can interact daily with people with very different profiles in various domains.
