Promoscopy - PGE 19 talks about its relationship with work

Between the search for meaning and for a better balance between professional and personal life, the class of 2019 tells us about their relationship with work, three years and one pandemic after leaving NEOMA.

PGE 19's relationship to work

They graduated in the "old world", the one before Covid-19, Zoom and teleworking. The majority of them went into auditing and consulting (30%), marketing and digital communication (25%), or finance (20%). These are some 1,267 young graduates who entered the job market three eventful years ago. Behind these figures, which characterise the PGE Class of 2019, there is above all a diversity of profiles, desires and professional aspirations, especially since the health crisis has swept away what they had managed to put in place.

Reshuffling the cards
They felt they were well prepared, as was the case for Johanna Fontanesi, who is responsible for international projects at the Champagne Committee. "I felt that all the keys to success had been given to me by our training." Moreover, 95% of the graduates of this class of 2019 had found a job within four months of leaving school. But that was without counting on a pandemic. Some lost a job, others struggled to find one in their field (see following pages). Many had more difficulties at work, especially during the confinements. "What I have seen in auditing at KPMG is that teleworking seems to be efficient as long as there are clear objectives and a reactive remote management. However, this work becomes more complex in the case of new subjects or multiple managers. In the end, I have a positive view of teleworking," admits David Xynopoulos, financial controller at Swiss Life France. It's all about balance for Charles Souleau-Joffre, Account Manager at Bruce, who notes that he "saves time" for himself, even if he "doesn't want to do too much teleworking.
