Impactful Finance & Challenges of Financing Sustainable Development Goals

The Global Executive MBA club recently hosted a panel discussion on "Impactful Finance & Challenges of Financing Sustainable Development Goals." Held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at KEDGE Business School in Paris, this event brought together alumni from NEOMA, EDHEC, ESSEC, and KEDGE to explore the intersection of finance and sustainability.

The panelists, experts in their fields, addressed the urgent need for a more sustainable and inclusive growth model globally. They emphasized that investing in the planet goes beyond climate change to include biodiversity and preserving ecosystems, as well as addressing social inequalities.

Moderated by Gael Marteau, Deputy Managing Director of Symbiotics France SA and NEOMA alum of 1995, the panel included Sébastien Duquet from EDHEC, Laurent Chéreau from KEDGE, and Grégoire Danel-Fédou from ESSEC. Each speaker shared their experiences and insights into how finance can contribute to solving environmental and social issues.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage with the panelists and network with fellow MBA and EMBA students from the participating schools. The event fostered lively discussions on current events, market trends, and career opportunities in the realm of impactful finance.

Cliodhna Fullam, a Global Executive MBA graduate, expressed appreciation for the insightful discussions linking finance to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainability pillars. Mylène Monrose, another Global Executive MBA alumna, highlighted the importance of combining business development with ecosystem preservation.

Reflecting on the event, Gaël Marteau emphasized the importance of making impactful finance accessible to a broader audience and thanked both organizers and participants for their engagement. He encouraged everyone to continue taking action in their respective roles as operational managers, business leaders, and investors.

The Global Executive MBA club looks forward to hosting more events that explore the intersection of finance, sustainability, and social impact, inspiring alumni to drive positive change in their industries and communities.
